Common problems:

What are some common problems in catss and how can they be prevented?

Eye infections are very common in cats, especially in in young kittens. The most commonly seen eye infections in cats are Conjunctivitis, Glaucoma, Cataracts, Keratitis and Third eyelid protrusion. Although all of these conditions are slightly different, the measures to prevent them from occurring are very similar.

Gastritis is when the stomach lining is inflamed or infected. In most cases it presents with vomiting, diarrhea and can lead to dehydration. Gastritis usually is not severe, but if the vomiting persists for more than 24 hours, medical attention should be sought. Just like human Gastritis, feline Gastritis can be caused by a number things.

Gingvitis is a very common but serious problem in felines as it can lead to a more serious condition, gum disease. It can cause severe discomfort for your cat but can be prevented by a few simple measures. Any cat can contract Gingvitis but it is most common in cats over the age of 3.
